A Memory from the most haunted house in Canada
One of my memories from the most haunted house in Canada.
It started in the basement.
I had moved some equipment down to the bottom of the stairs, Elizabeth and Aimie were helping me retrieve cables and were placing microphones. I was about to connect the video surveillance camera to the monitor just as Elizabeth was heading up the stairs to fetch an extension cord from the kitchen. That’s when I noticed something grab her leg on the stairs. I couldn’t see who or what was grabbing her, I could see her pant leg tighten around her ankle so I moved in closer, thinking she was going to fall backwards. She kicked and pulled and I called out to her. She broke free and ran up the stairs, through the door, into the kitchen and swung the door closed behind her with all her strength.
As I watched, this something, still invisible to me, pounded up the stairs after her and hit the now closed kitchen door so hard that it flew open, slamming into the wall.
I headed up the stairs, the loud crash had brought the rest of the team to the kitchen. It was interesting to note later, when the audiotapes were reviewed, that during the incident just after I called out to her by name, another man’s voice says her name aloud. This wasn’t heard at the time, but was captured by the equipment. At the time of the recording, not only was I the only male in the basement, but also in the entire house.
This was the beginning of the scariest haunting of my career.
